About Me: I play the drums professionally, and love what i do! My specialty is "groove drumming". I put together some videos featuring myself playing to my favorite recordings, as i demonstrate my approach to the "groove" of the composition. For drummers in a rhythm section, keeping time, laying & holding the foundation is first and formost...our job is to "drive" the band....which is not as easy as most may think....it takes discipline & focus. In my opinion, it's easier to play alot of chops all over the place, than it is to hold down a groove. For the up-and-coming drummers of today, i challenge you to play your "grooves" without fills...just try it......as you hear and feel the other instruments coming together with the groove that you are providing, you start to get the understanding of the power that you posess WITHOUT alot of "technical" playing....trust me, it's very rewarding! This way of "shedding" (practicing), enables me to be at my best in studio & live situations, as it applys to tempo, approach, application & dynamics!....this is my style of drumming....this is what i looooove to do!....it's just me, "havin fun wit the groove!"
I play pearl drums: sabian cymbals: evans heads: vic firth sticks: "flix" vinyl brushes & Rute 505's {Vic Firth},(which i will be using in my videos) & shure microphones.
*to avoid using drum mics & headphones in the videos, i'll be using my "flix vinyl brushes & Rute 505's {Vic Firth}, to blend better with the recordings, while still bringing out the tones of the drums & cymbals.
